EL Tech iOS Application

EL Tech (“EL Tech”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) is committed to protecting the privacy of users of the EL Tech iOS application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains the information used by the App, why it is used, and the choices available to you.
EL Tech does not use advertising, third-party analytics, or cross-app tracking and does not sell personal information. The App does not require an EL Tech account.
The App may use the following information to provide its features:
The App does not collect names, postal addresses, contacts, financial information, health information, advertising identifiers, or precise location history for advertising or tracking.
EL Tech uses Apple CloudKit for app functionality. User-controlled maintenance collaboration may use private or shared CloudKit records. Cloud-based ASOS and NEXRAD notification preferences are stored as per-device records in a CloudKit database so the EL Tech notification service can monitor selected stations and address notifications to the correct device.

These technical identifiers are not used for advertising, analytics, cross-app tracking, or building marketing profiles. CloudKit data is protected by Apple's platform security, and access is limited to authorized app and notification-service operations.
Cloud-based alerts are optional. When enabled, the EL Tech notification service reads the selected ASOS and NEXRAD stations and notification settings described above, monitors those sites for outage conditions, and sends requested alerts through APNs.
The APNs token and related notification record remain stored while needed to provide cloud-based alerts. Disabling cloud-based alerts in the App stops monitoring for that device and removes or deactivates its cloud-notification registration according to the App's available controls.
With permission, the App uses the device's current location to request relevant weather alerts through Apple WeatherKit. The App may store the most recent coordinates locally to support refreshes. EL Tech does not use location for advertising, tracking, or creation of a location-history profile. You can change location permission at any time in iOS Settings.
The App retrieves weather, radar, warning, geographic-boundary, and station information from services operated by Apple, NOAA/NWS, Aviation Weather Center, Iowa Environmental Mesonet, College of DuPage or another warning server selected by the user, U.S. Census Bureau map services, and EL Tech services at nexrad.info.
Requests to these services may include standard network information such as an IP address, request time, requested station, selected radar product, or requested map area. Their handling of network information is governed by their respective policies. If you configure a custom warning server, requests are sent to the server you select.
Standard crash reports, performance information, and device or operating-system information may be generated by iOS and provided to Apple according to your device analytics settings. EL Tech does not include third-party advertising or analytics SDKs in the App.
EL Tech does not sell, rent, or share app data for advertising or marketing. Information is disclosed only as needed to provide requested app functionality, operate cloud notifications, comply with law, protect the security of the service, or support CloudKit collaboration initiated by the user.
Local preferences remain on the device until changed, reset, or the App's data is removed. Cloud notification information remains while needed to provide enabled alerts. You can disable notifications, cloud synchronization, or location access through the App or iOS Settings. You may contact us to ask about deletion of information associated with cloud-based notifications.
EL Tech uses encrypted network connections and relies on Apple security services, including CloudKit and APNs. Access to cloud-notification data is limited to the operations needed to maintain preferences, monitor selected stations, and deliver alerts. No electronic storage or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
The App is not directed at children under 13, and EL Tech does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
EL Tech may update this Privacy Policy as app functionality or legal requirements change. Revisions will be identified by the updated date and published at this location.
